IRON MAIDEN's 'Flight 666' To Be Screened As Part Of BBC4's 'Heavy Metal Britannia' Weekend

February 26, 2010

U.K.'s BBC Four will screen IRON MAIDEN's award-winning "Flight 666" documentary on Thursday, March 4 at 11 p.m. (GMT) — a very suitable starting point for their "Heavy Metal Britannia" weekend! A special one-hour edit of the spectacular MAIDEN live concert (from the bonus disc in the "Flight 666" DVD release) can be seen the following night, Friday, March 5 at 11 p.m. (GMT). The concert will be shown after two BBC metal programs: the first is "Heavy Metal Britannia" (9 p.m. GMT) which charts the origins and history of British heavy metal and includes interviews with such legendary performers as BLACK SABBATH's Tony Iommi, JUDAS PRIEST's Rob Halford, MOTÖRHEAD's Lemmy and MAIDEN's very own Bruce Dickinson. The second is "Heavy Metal At The BBC" (10:30 p.m. GMT) and is a 30-minute compilation of performances by various metal bands recorded over the years. Both these BBC programs will be repeated on BBC Four on Sunday, March 7 at 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., respectively, with the IRON MAIDEN live concert repeated at 1:30 a.m. (GMT) the following morning.

BBC Four is a BBC television channel available to U.K. digital television viewers (Freeview, IPTV, satellite and cable).
